About Lotta The Clown

Lotta and Friend My name is Treesa Svatos and I was born in Portland, Oregon in the mid 1960's, so I suppose I am middle aged if you are counting years. Our family was planted in Canby, Oregon in 1994 when my husband and I bought our home. Since 2001, I have been a school bus driver. I enjoy driving the
children in my neighborhood to school every morning and home each afternoon. I am a wife to a wonderful husband and a mother to two beautiful daughters. I chose Lotta as my clown name because I wanted to honor my heritage. My grandmother came from Sweden when she was a teenager many years ago!

Here are a few of my favorite things: FLOWERS, any and all. I like to hear the joyful laughter of children. Holding puppies and smelling a puppy's breath. Receiving dandelions from children, as if it were the most exquisite flower ever. Going camping in God's wilderness with my family and friends. Riding my bike to work on sunny days. Painting my nails and toes! Getting up on a Saturday morning only to watch movies! And my biggest love of all is chocolate. My biggest wish is that one day chocolate will be FAT free!

I am a member of the Rose City Clowns and a registered member of the Clowns of America International. As part of the Rose City Clown Ally I have
some of the best clowns in the country to clown around with and learn from. I consider myself very blessed to be a part of a group of great clowns.

Some of the training I have gone through is Clowning 101, part one and two from the Rose City Clown Alley. I went to the Northwest Festival of Clowns in Bellingham, Washington in 2007. Lotta received a gold medal award in paradeability for being a member in the Purple Plunger Brigade.

I attended David Ginn's Christmas Magic training seminar. I learned many techniques that I use in my clown magic today. http://www.ginnmagic.com

I attended Steve Kissell's training seminar on Family Fun Entertainment, Magic & Story Telling along with wacky restaurant routines. http://www.kisselltalks.com

I have also attended training from the Puckett Family of Magic. http://www.amazingtruthministries.com

I learned many magic tricks at the Ickle Pickle workshop in 2008

As a bus driver I was looking for something to do during summers and non-school days. I started my journey into the world of clowning in March 2007.
I love children and being a part of many young lives is my true calling in life. Unlike a teacher, I get to watch the children grow up, seeing them every day through out all the years of school. It is quite amazing after several years how fast the time goes by and how they change into little people with
such grown up personalities. The students are eager to share what they learn and what goes on in their lives. Kindergartners really do share more than you need to know! Having such close relationships with children helps me to be a better clown because I feel I can truly relate to children.

Being a clown also gives me a way to give back to my community. As a Rose City Clown, I have been involved in events such as the Clackamas Foster Children's Picnic, Thanksgiving Day Red Cross Blood Drive and The Annual Candle Lighters party for children affected with cancer. I look forward to many years of giving back what ever I can with the gifts God has given me.
