Skittle
Skittle
My name is Amee "Skittle" Svatos, daughter of Lotta the Clown. I am currently attending Canby Union High School class of 2011. I am very active in school sports at my high school. I play a goalkeeper in soccer. I have played soccer since I was five years old. I have been playing the best sport ever, rugby, since I was a freshman. During my first year playing rugby, I ended up playing for the U19 Oregon state representative team in the summer. I spend my spare time visiting with my friends, working out at the local gym or playing friendly touch rugby. Arts and crafts are a huge part of my life and I really enjoy origami. I truly believe in clowning. Being a balloon artist lets me express myself and excel at being creative in everything I do.

I became a clown because my mom had been one for about a year. When my mom returned home from clown alley meetings, she explained how exciting it was. I had been looking at all the old New Calliopes (a clown magazine) from her library collection for a few months when I decided to be a clown. It was a great decision and I decided to be an Auguste clown for my inner goofiness and creativity. It took me awhile to come up with a clown name; my parents really wanted me to use my nickname Frody. They called me Frody because my sister had the same nick name when she was little. My sister was named Frody because she could not say throw, she would say frowed. But at that time my favorite candy was Skittles and a lot of clown names are from candy names. I have been clowning for about a year now with my mother. My favorite thing to do at events is make balloons. I have taken several balloon classes and attended a few balloon jams with some well known balloon artists in the United States. I have also attended the Northwest Festival of Clowns for two years now, one in Bellingham, Washington and this last fall in Billings, Montana.

I am an active Junior Joey in the Rose City Clown Alley. Just recently, I stepped up as the vice president of the Junior Joey club. I am learning what my duties will be and I plan to do the best job I can to fulfill the needs of the alley. We always need new children that want to learn the art of clowning.
